As we respond to the circumstances surrounding the coronavirus pandemic and the resulting COVID-19 illness, Firefighters Credit Union is committed to meeting member financial needs while taking appropriate precautions to protect the health of our staff and members. This page provides answers to questions members have about our response, our services, and other COVID-19 related questions.
Economic Impact Payments (E.I.P.): commonly called "stimulus checks", members can check the status of their E.I.P. on the following website IRS: Get My Payment. Firefighters Credit Union posts direct deposits of E.I.P.s when we receive them. Unfortunately we are unable to provide further details about the status of a member's E.I.P. or why it has not been received yet.
Paycheck Protection Program (P.P.P.) Loans: Firefighters Credit Union is not able to provide assistance in getting a P.P.P. loan at this time. We recommend business owners contact another credit union in Utah that is offering P.P.P. loans for assistance.
Skip Payments: we have skip payment options for every type of loan to assist members through this difficult time. Contact a member of our loan staff to find out what options are available.
Precautions We Are Taking: the credit union staff is following all recommended guidelines issued by federal and state health agencies, including: regular hand washing, avoiding touching of the face, sanitizing all surfaces that are touched multiple times a day, and keeping 6 feet between staff members at all times. The staff is divided into two teams, with one team working in the office and other other team working from home. Teams rotate regularly. This facilitates the need to social distance, and helps us be prepared should a staff member become infected. The credit union is closed to members, but we are helping a limited number of members in the parking lot each day. We are exploring other steps that will help us to protect staff and members in the future.
Online and Electronic Services Unaffected by Our Response: we offer a number of services that have been unaffected by our response, including online banking, online bill pay, mobile banking, remote check deposit, and electronic funds transfers (ACH direct deposits and ACH direct payments). Internal automatic transfers are also unaffected. We encourage all members to take advantage of these services.
Payment Transactions Unaffected by Our Response: members can use their debit cards and credit cards, write checks, make online bill pay payments, and setup electronic transfers just as they always have.
Shared Branching: most credit unions have taken the precaution of closing their buildings to walk-in traffic. However, many shared branching locations have drive-up windows that are still available for shared branching transactions. Check the CO-OP Shared Branching Locator to find a location near you.
Loans: members can still apply for loans, and have their loans funded, without coming to the Credit Union office. Our electronic signature service makes getting a loan a snap!
